Yellowstone River Cooperation Paper Wins Story Contest

Mike Penfold

Diverse Interests Unite to Protect the Yellowstone River.  In his article, Penfold expounds on the river’s unique history, its intrinsic value, its complex and random system of governance as well as its promising future.  Through the ongoing cooperation of scores of concerned organizations, both government and private, “foundation concepts are beginning to emerge: ‘all who enjoy the benefits of the River are stakeholders, stakeholders must work cooperatively’, ‘agreed upon action will be based on information, science and shared action.’”

Penfold won a $300 pair of custom fitted, Montana-made work boots when he entered Conserve Montana’s Conservation Story Contest in late 2013.
